New Delhi: Two days after the Delhi Police took Sonam Wanchuk for treatment after staying on a hunger strike for almost three weeks in CJP protests at Jantar
Mantar, the activist on Monday announced that he would continue with his fast.
Sharing another letter on his X handle, the activist said that he decided to continue with his fast until youth leaders are allowed to meet the Parliamentarians at the Sansad Bhawan or he be allowed to meet them at the hospital.
What Sonam Wanchuk write in the letter?
“Seeing the brutality with which peacefully protesting youth are being dealt with, I have decided to continue my fast until the youth leaders are allowed to meet the Parliamentarians at the Sansad Bhawan or I am allowed to meet them here at the Hospital. Hopefully Govt will fix the accountability of the education minister before that,” the letter said.

He added, “ I am touched & moved by how the youth have held on to peace despite provocation, and I appeal to the Govt & Police force to resolve the issue by simply allowing the students to present their grievances before the Parliament today or tomorrow. I’m sure the young protesters will show the same patience and tolerance tomorrow as they did today”.
Delhi Police dismantle CJP’s protest site
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police dismantled CJP’s protest site on Monday, hours after thwarting protesters’ march to Parliament with tear gas and baton charges. However, protesters regrouped at Jantar Mantar following the march. One of their leaders said they would continue with their protests, PTI reported.
As per a protester, the demands of the group’s demand has been met after CJP met with Union Minister JP Nadda. He added that protests would continue till the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. While a large number of students and other protesters continued to assemble at Jantar Mantar, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke addressed the crowd from a tempo.
