New Delhi: The Bihar government has withdrawn their Z-plus security over former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi this morning after
the state government reviewed the protection given to VIPs in the state.
Amid the government’s decision, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) workers were seen guarding Lalu’s residence with sticks. On May 6, the state government removed the Z-plus security cover for the former CM, provided by the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), after removing the top-category security cover.
What now Bihar government providing security cover to Lalu Prasad Yadav
The new security cover features two to eight home guards, two bodyguards from the Patna District Force, a pilot, and a bulletproof car for Lalu and his wife.
After the government’s decision, Tejashwi Yadav, their son and the RJD leader, also returned his Y-category security cover.
Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu, alleged that the Bihar government intended to harm her family and had malicious intent; that’s why the Samrat Choudhary-led government removed the security cover from her parents.
