New Delhi: Fresh European type-approval papers hint that KTM is preparing a limited-edition 1390 Super Duke RR, built as a more focused and lighter version
of the already powerful 1390 Super Duke R. Much like the earlier 1290 Super Duke RR, which was launched in small numbers, this new RR model seems to follow the same idea of shedding weight, adding premium parts and sharpening the overall performance.
The pricing is also unclear at the moment. However, the RR will definitely cost more than the standard Super Duke R. For reference, the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke R is listed at Rs 22.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) on the KTM India website, though this price is yet to be updated after the GST 2.0 changes.

KTM’s new 1390 Super Duke RR mainly focuses on cutting weight, just like the older RR versions. Type-approval papers show that the bike weighs 204kg with a full tank, which makes it about 8.5kg lighter than the regular 212.5kg Super Duke. This drop in weight is likely because KTM has used an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, several carbon-fibre parts, and a lighter lithium-ion battery.
The documents also mention that the RR will get a handlebar that is 17mm wider. This could be to make space for lever guards, similar to what was seen earlier on the 1290 Super Duke RR. The bike is also expected to come with higher-end WP Apex Pro suspension, although KTM has not confirmed this yet.
What are Mechanical changes ?
There are no signs of mechanical changes. The 1,350cc V-twin engine is likely to stay the same as the standard bike, producing around 190hp and 145Nm. CycleWorld says the bike may have been planned for an EICMA 2025 reveal, but KTM’s recent financial troubles might have delayed that plan.
For now, KTM has not shared any confirmed launch timeline. But with Bajaj taking over KTM recently, the fresh investment could help the company bring its upcoming models back on schedule.
