New Delhi: Eyeing history on home soil, Team India is geared up for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, beginning in India and Sri Lanka on February 07, 2026.
The Men In Blue enter the tournament as the defending champions and two-time winners, aiming to add a third title to their trophy cabinet, which will make them the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
India also have the chance to become the first nation to win back-to-back world titles in the T20 format less than two years after they scripted history under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the 2024 edition in the Americas.
While Rohit has retired, the Indian team has grown even stronger under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, who will be leading the side for the first time in a World Cup.
With insane firepower in the batting line-up and vast experience in the bowling department, India are the hot favourites to lift the world title.
India are pooled alongside Pakistan, the Netherlands, Namibia and the USA in Group A.
The co-hosts will open their campaign against giant slayers USA on the inaugural day of the tournament in Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium before a meeting with Namibia in New Delhi. India’s third game is scheduled against arch-rivals Pakistan, who have refused to play the match on February 15 in Colombo. India’s last fixture in the group stage is against the Netherlands.
