Early background and rise in gaming
Before becoming a leading creative force, Vince Zampella worked regular jobs and slowly climbed into the gaming industry by testing games and handling support roles. He moved through GameTek, Atari, Panasonic Interactive Media and SegaSoft, learning the craft and understanding how games could be built better. His first major breakthrough came with Medal of Honor Allied Assault, where his work drew strong attention in the industry.
In 2002, he co founded Infinity Ward and helped launch Call of Duty in 2003. Under his leadership, the franchise turned into one of the most successful shooter series globally with titles like Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. After his exit from Activision, he created Respawn Entertainment in 2010 which went on to build Titanfall, Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. EA later acquired Respawn in 2017 and eventually trusted Zampella with leadership responsibilities over Battlefield as well.
