New Delhi: The buzz around Grand Theft Auto VI is picking up pace again, and this time it’s the PC release that’s back in focus. A fresh rumour suggests
Rockstar could bring the game to PC much earlier than expected. For players who’ve been through Rockstar’s long PC waits before, this one feels a bit surprising.
As of now, the official plan is clear. Rockstar Games is targeting a console launch on November 19, 2026. The release is limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S at launch. There has been no official update on the PC version yet, but leaks are trying to fill that gap.

GTA 6 pc release rumour points to early 2027
The latest claim comes from X user DetectiveSeeds, who says they reached out to former Rockstar employees. In their post, they wrote, “According to 3 former Rockstar employees (that I contacted through Linkedin) Grand Theft Auto 6 is aiming to release the PC version in February 2027. All stated this timeline could shift, but Take-Two and Rockstar wanted to get the game out before end of fiscal year. I reached out to over 90 people, 3 answered me.”
That February 2027 window stands out. Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in March 2027, so a PC launch just before that could help the company close its financial year on a strong note. Still, the source is limited. Only three responses came in from a much larger outreach, and even those sources flagged that timelines could change.
Rockstar’s usual pc delay still casts doubt
Looking at Rockstar’s past releases, the company has rarely launched PC versions alongside consoles. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both arrived on PC well after their console debuts. In most cases, the gap has stretched anywhere between one year to even longer.
Going by that pattern, many in the community were expecting GTA VI on PC sometime in late 2027 or even early 2028. That makes this February 2027 rumour feel earlier than usual, though not completely out of the question.
Up to you guys if you wanna believe me on this or not but hearing from someone that the current plan for GTA 6 is to launch online within a month after the release of the game. pic.twitter.com/vBoN8YLWEP

When will GTA 6 online launch?
There’s also talk around the online component. Insider TheGhostofHope claimed that GTA VI Online may launch within a month of the main game.
The leaker said, “Up to you guys if you wanna believe me on this or not but hearing from someone that the current plan for GTA VI is to launch online within a month after the release of the game.”
If the console version lands on November 19, 2026, the online mode could arrive by December 2026. That timeline would mirror what Rockstar did with GTA V, where GTA Online dropped about a month after the base game.
Where things stand right now
At this stage, nothing around the PC release has been confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two. The February 2027 date remains a rumour, and even the sources behind it admit plans could shift.
For PC players, this means the wait may or may not be shorter this time. Rockstar has stuck to its staggered rollout strategy for years, and until there’s an official announcement, that expectation still holds.
