New Delhi:Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets in the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 to lift their
second trophy at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Thursday, February 5.
The Bengaluru-based franchise became the first team to win both IPL and WPL trophies simultaneously. After the stunning victory, India and RCB’s star batter Virat Kohli took to social media and wrote a heartfelt message, praising the squad for the brilliant win.
“Champions again. Keeping the RCB flag flying high and something that each one of you can be proud of. To Smriti and the whole squad and the management team, a big congratulations for this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans,” Kohli wrote.

RCB ended their long trophy drought with their maiden WPL title win in 2024. One of the world’s most-followed franchise, RCB had long chased an IPL title untilSmriti Mandhana’s side broke the jinx in the second season of the WPL. The men’s team also clinched the IPL title in 2025, with Rajat Patidar leading the side to glory and Virat Kohli lifting maiden trophy after an 18-year wait.
RCB win second WPL title after beating DC
The WPL final at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara was a high-octane clash that went to the last over, with records tumbling. Delhi Capitals, who were playing their fourth consecutive final, set a 204-run target for Mandhana’s side, led by Jemimah Rodrigues’ 57 off 37. It was the highest total ever recorded in a WPL final, leaving RCB with a massive task to achieve.
However, captain Smriti Mandhana played an outstanding knock, scoring 87 runs off just 41 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and three maximums. She stitched a 165-run partnership for the second wicket with Georgia Voll, who also amassed 79 runs off 54 balls to dismantle the Delhi bowling attack. Despite some pressure in the end, RCB crossed the winning line with two balls to spare, completing the highest successful run-chase in the WPL’s history.
