New Delhi: A few months after launching the 160 Duke in India, KTM has now added a fully faired motorcycle to the line-up with the launch of the RC 160.
This new bike sits below the RC 200 and RC 390, making it the most affordable model in KTM’s RC supersport range for Indian buyers.
The KTM RC 160 is priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 15,000 more expensive than the 160 Duke. It is also around Rs 19,000 costlier than its closest rival, the Yamaha R15, which is priced at Rs 1.66 lakh. The motorcycle comes with dual-channel ABS as standard, along with a Supermoto mode for more aggressive riding.
KTM RC 160: Engine and powertrain
The KTM RC 160 uses the same 164.2 cc, liquid-cooled engine as the 160 Duke. The motor produces 19 hp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox, which comes with an assist and slipper clutch. According to KTM, the RC 160 can reach a top speed of 118 kmph.

The motorcycle gets full LED lighting, covering the headlamp, tail lamp and indicators. It also features an LCD instrument cluster. While the 160 Duke recently received a TFT display, KTM has not confirmed whether the RC 160 will get the same upgrade anytime soon. Though, the KTM has not yet shared the official kerb weight of the bike. However, due to the added fairing and body panels, it is expected to weigh slightly more than the 160 Duke, which has a kerb weight of 147 kg.
In terms of hardware, the RC 160 is very similar to the 160 Duke. Suspension is handled by a 37 mm upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock. The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 110-section tyre at the front and a 140-section tyre at the rear. Braking components are also carried over, including a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc.
