The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has accepted an invitation from the United States to join the Board of Peace,
the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The acceptance was announced by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said the UAE’s decision reflects the importance of fully implementing US President Donald J. Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which he described as critical for the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

He also reaffirmed the UAE’s confidence in President Trump’s leadership and commitment to global peace, as reflected in the Abraham Accords.
The statement said the UAE is ready to contribute actively to the mission of the Board of Peace, supporting greater cooperation, stability and prosperity for all.

Notably US President Donald Trump wants to sign the proposed Gaza 'Board of Peace' on Thursday, January 22, at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos.
While the White House has its sights set on signing the full constitution and remit of the committee this week, many of them wish to rewrite the terms with European allies working closely on a coordinated response, Bloomberg reported.
French President Emmanuel Macron does not intend to be part of the board. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is up to joining the board "in-principle" but not willing to pay for a permanent membership.
