She is affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N), serving as a member of the National Assembly since 2018 and as the party's Information Secretary.Born on 16 July, 1980, Marriyum belongs to a political family of Pakistan, and her mother Tahira Aurangzeb was member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till August 2023.Before becoming involved in politics, Marriyum worked as head of corporate relations at WWF-Pakistan, contributing to environmental policy formulation, and served on the board of LEAD Pakistan.She holds a Master's in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University and an M.Sc. in Environment and Development from King's College London. She also holds a a Bachelor of Arts degree from Federal Government College, Islamabad, Pakistan.
