Glasgow has a lot to offer and can be an ideal holiday destination. What’s more, there are many cultural
spaces, parks, galleries, and museums to explore. Here are some fun and exciting things to do when you are in Glasgow.
Check out the Glasgow Botanic Gardens
There is so much to fall in love with at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, from the beautiful green spaces to the architecture. This place is packed with history. The gardens were reportedly part of the University of Glasgow. The city eventually acquired it, and in 1891, it was made public.
Enjoy the green spaces at Pollok Country Park
This beautiful green space has an old Pollok House at the centre of the park. Best of all, you can enjoy this breathtaking countryside a short distance from Glasgow Central. It is only 10 minutes away. It’s a great place to enjoy the slow pace of life and take in your surroundings. You could even spot a few Highland cows and Clydesdale horses.
Inside Pollok House, you can check out the amazing collection of silverware, ceramics, fine art, and antique furniture. It also houses some of the finest Spanish paintings.
Learn something new at the Glasgow Science Centre
If you love all things science, visit the Glasgow Science Centre. It houses a cinema and a planetarium. It also has galleries. In addition, it also houses interactive exhibitions.
Get a glimpse of the Crane and the Clyde
Two of the most famous shipbuilding cranes in the city are huge tourist attractions. Glasgow's shipyards made it one of the most powerful industrial cities across the globe. The grey Finnieston crane is one of the few remaining such cranes on the Clyde. However, it is not in working order anymore.
Take a walk from Glasgow Green east of the city centre to Govan to check out the Finnieston Crane and other landmarks on the Clyde.
