Tucked between Nagaland and Manipur, this untouched valley bursts into bloom with wildflowers, rolling hills, and serene trekking trails.
Some of us might
have heard about it, but what makes this place so special and unique? Dzuko means cold heart in the local dialect. Some say the stream that flows through the valley is freezing cold, and that is how it got this name.
Other stories say that when settlers came to cultivate in Dzuko Valley, due to the harsh climatic conditions, they were unable to do so. They named it dull and soulless, which in the local translation is the word Dzuko. While there are many things to see here, the Dzukolily is the special attraction of this valley.
Reaching Dzuko
There are two main trekking routes to reach Dzuko – the Viswema Way and the Jakhama Way. Viswema is the longest way to reach the valley, but the route is not difficult as it gradually reaches its height. Jakhama way is shorter but steeper.
To enjoy the whole lot of adventure, you can take the Viswema way to go to Dzuko and take the Jakhama way to come back, as it's easy to climb down the hill.
Staying at Dzuko
It's the best place to travel for anyone and everyone. There is a camping place on top of Dzuko Valley where one can stay in a dormitory or a private room. To make it a little adventurous, you can pitch a tent.

Dzuko Lily
The early month of July is the flowering time in Dzuko Valley, and one can see the whole Valley covered with various flowers. Especially, the endangered Dzukolily is the main attraction in the valley.

Dzuko is a plastic-free valley, so when you travel, be responsible for your trash.
Food
The trek to the valley will take around 5 hours. So, take enough food supplements as they will be available only at the top campsite, or rent a kitchen and cook.
