Himachal Pradesh has been named among the world’s top 10 most welcoming regions in Booking.com’s Traveller Review Awards 2026, while also retaining its position as India’s most welcoming region for the third consecutive year, according to data released by the travel platform.
The rankings are based on more than 370 million customer reviews left by travellers on Booking.com. The awards recognise destinations with a high share of accommodation partners receiving consistently positive ratings for hospitality and service.
Within India, Bir in Himachal Pradesh was named the most welcoming city for the second year in a row, followed by Mararikulam in Kerala and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Other Indian cities featured in the top 10 include McLeod Ganj, Mukteswar, Khajuraho, Bhim Tal, Manali, Hampi and Mandrem.
Globally, Himachal Pradesh featured alongside regions such as Hidalgo in Mexico, Montepulciano in Italy, Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, Navarra in Spain, Idaho in the US, Sachsen in Germany, Phang Nga in Thailand and Takayama in Japan.
In terms of overall national rankings, Italy topped the global list with 214,666 award-winning partners, followed by France and Spain. Germany and the United Kingdom completed the top five.
