What is the story about?
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has shared his firsthand Uber bike service experience in India. In the video shared on X, he is seen booking an Uber bike directly through the app.
Once the ride arrives, he hops on behind the rider and heads to his destination. The clip was part of a promotional push for Uber’s bike rides, which are priced starting at just ₹ 25.
For a fun twist, the CEO used Divine’s hit track ‘Kaam 25’ from the Netflix series Sacred Games, which cleverly linked the song’s theme with the low pricing.
He also captioned the post: “Bike Helmet Daam Pachchis Hai! (“Rides at just 25 Rupees”!).”
This isn’t the only transport experienceKhosrowshahi tried during his India visit. He also took a ride on the Delhi Metro and shared his experience online. Travelling from Delhi Secretariat to Jor Bagh on the Blue Line, he described the metro system as “fast, affordable, and reliable.”
In the video posted on LinkedIn and X, he can be seen wearing a traditional jacket while documenting the journey.
“Millions of people take the Metro to go to work, play, or go and see family, and now you can get that experience with a few taps on the Uber app,” he said while explaining how users can now book Metro tickets through Uber.
The video also showed him using a QR code generated on the app to enter the station, a feature enabled through Uber’s integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
After completing the ride, he said, “Got a real feel of the Delhi pulse. It was fast. It was affordable. It was reliable. It was absolutely awesome.”
During his visit, Khosrowshahi also spoke about Uber’s long-term vision for India and other markets. He said the company is working towards bringing multiple modes of transport, such as bikes, autos, buses and metro systems, onto a single platform. The idea, he explained, is to make commuting seamless, where users can access different transport options with just a single tap.
He also highlighted Uber’s growing integration with public transport systems in India by noting that more than 10 million metro rides have already been booked through the app in the country.
