What is the story about?
Air India has introduced new Maharaja Club welcome kits for members reaching the Gold and Platinum tiers. The kits, distributed progressively as members attain these statuses, include items designed for utility and travel convenience.
The Platinum kit, available to members entering the tier since November 2025, contains a leather folio, a redesigned membership card, a fridge magnet, personalised luggage tags, a passport holder, a deck of playing cards, and a limited-edition brass medallion marking J R DTata’s first flight in 1932.
The Gold kit, launched in October 2025, includes a membership card, two personalised luggage tags, and a set of acrylic coasters featuring vintage Maharaja artwork.
Members of Maharaja Club receive benefits such as priority check-in and boarding, lounge access, reciprocal privileges with 24 Star Alliance partner airlines, and the ability to earn points on flights and partner services.
To reach the Gold tier, members must earn 30,000 Tier Points annually, with at least 9,000 points from Air India flights, or complete 60 eligible flights with Air India and partner airlines, including a minimum of eight Air India flights. The Platinum tier requires 45,000 Tier Points, with at least 13,500 from Air India flights, or 90 eligible flights annually, including at least 12 Air India flights.
Tier upgrades occur automatically once the criteria are met, and members can track their status via the Air India website or app.
