What is the story about?
The South Central Railway has announced the cancellation of several trains due to non-interlocking works for the Rayanapadu yard remodelling in the Vijayawada division. The upgrades are part of Indian Railways’ broader efforts to modernise infrastructure, reduce congestion, and enhance passenger safety and convenience. The work will be in effect between April 28 and May 5, with some services affected between May 1 and May 5.
Several key routes, including trains connecting Vijayawada with Secunderabad, Guntur and Bhadrachalam, have been affected. Both passenger and express services, used by thousands of people daily, are part of the cancellation list.

The Vijayawada-Bhadrachalam Road (67215/16) service and Vijayawada-Dornakal (67768/67) will remain cancelled from April 28 to May 5. Long-distance services such as Visakhapatnam-Mahabubnagar (12861) and Kakinada Port-Lingampalli (12737) will be cancelled between May 1 and May 5.
Among the other major cancellations are Vijayawada-Secunderabad (12713/14), Guntur-Secunderabad (17201/02), Guntur-Secunderabad (12705/06), Mahabubnagar-Visakhapatnam (12862), Visakhapatnam-Mahabubnagar (12862) and Lingampalli-Kakinada Port (12738) trains between May 2 and May 5.
Some tri-weekly trains are affected as well. Kakinada Town-Lingampalli (12775/76) will remain cancelled on May 3 and May 4, respectively. Sambalpur- HS Nanded (20809) will not be operating on May 1, May 3 and May 4, while HS Nanded-Sambalpur (20810) will be cancelled on May 2, May 4 and May 5. Vishakhapatnam-HS Nanded (20811/12) will be cancelled on May 2 and May 3, respectively.

The trains will be diverted via Vijayawada – Krishna Canal – Guntur – Pagidipalli / alternate routes. Multiple stoppages like Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Mahbubabad, etc., will be skipped.
Travellers are advised to verify train schedules before planning their journey and consider alternative options to avoid last-minute disruptions during this time.
