Digital travel platform Agoda has released its latest Repeat Visitor ranking, revealing the top Indian cities that most travellers often return to on regular trips. Based on booking data from the first half of 2025, the top
five destinations in India for repeat visits are New Delhi and NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and unexpectedly, Kochi.
Data suggests that many travellers aren't satisfied with a single visit. Whether it's revisiting favourite spots, exploring what was missed the first time, or simply enjoying the familiarity of a place, these cities are seeing travellers return multiple times within six months.
Unsurprisingly, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru remain major draws. These cities serve as business hubs
with excellent connectivity, making them natural destinations for frequent work-related travel that often extends into leisure. Delhi provides access to Agra and the Himalayan foothills, while Bengaluru connects to Coorg and Chikmagalur. Similarly, Chennai serves as a gateway to Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, and beyond.

Kochi's inclusion, however, points to changing travel preferences. Once seen primarily as an
entry point to Kerala's backwaters, Kochi has evolved into a destination in its own right. Its appeal lies in its blend of colonial-era architecture, vibrant arts scene, and deep multicultural roots. Events like the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and the rise of boutique stays in historic quarters have made the city increasingly attractive for return visits.
