Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta recently announced plans to transform the Union Territory into a world-class tourism destination by harnessing the region's natural and cultural assets, but the twist is that he will seek

help from the world of Bollywood.

Yes, top celebrities will be seen vacationing at Ladakh, as Lieutenant Governor during a meeting with representatives from the All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association at the LG Secretariat, outlined a comprehensive vision to promote Ladakh as a destination.

"The administration will involve Bollywood stars and renowned celebrities for boosting tourism in Ladakh, thereby showcasing the Union Territory on national and international platforms," he said.

Highlighting Ladakh's dramatic landscapes, vibrant cultural heritage, and its vast potential for adventure tourism, the Lt Governor described the region as a "jewel" in India's tourism crown.

He stated that the administration is committed to improving connectivity, developing world-class infrastructure, and promoting environmentally responsible tourism.

Gupta also acknowledged the support of central

leadership in Ladakh's development. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have shown "personal interest" in the region's progress and reaffirmed his administration's dedication to introducing Ladakh-centric policies for the welfare of its people.

The meeting served as a platform for stakeholders in the hospitality industry to voice their concerns. According to an official spokesperson, members of the

association raised issues such as the complexity of registration procedures for hotels and guest houses, the financial strain caused by reduced tourist inflow, and the mandatory requirement of a Ladakh Residence Certificate (LRC) for operating accommodation facilities.

The Lt Governor assured the delegation that their concerns would be taken into consideration, and efforts would be made to create a more supportive environment for tourism-related businesses.
