An IIT-Kanpur graduate Kanak Agrawal chucked her job and decided to go on backpacking trip to Europe. Now there are many kinds of travelers. Some like
to travel luxuriously and stay in private properties and there's another type that wants to experiment, taste adventure and have a wholesome experience in every which way. Well, Kanak falls in the latter category. Instead of checking into hotels and hostels, Kanak decided to stay with complete strangers to make bonds and have a rather interesting time. Kanak learns about Couchsurfing which is basically a platform where locals offer travellers a place to stay for free. Yes! Now, of course, she opted for this option because it's a budget-friendly one, but what is also true is that it requires guts to do so. Someone who she met in Amsterdam introduced her to this platform. This is when she made an account on the platform and sent out a couple of requests. She found herself living with strangers where she cooked meals with them, explored different cities and at the same time made tons of memories. Just like Kanak, it is possible that you are hearing about couchsurfing for the first time, but you will be surprised to know that Kanak found hosts almost in every city. While narrating about all this, she even posted in her caption asking people if they would dare to try this hack out. One obvious concern around couchsurfing is that it may not be safe, especially for women travellers. Well, Kanak had something to share about that too. She shared that she always felt safe whenever she lived with strangers. However, the one thing she emphasised on was the importance of reading host reviews carefully and having conversations with people before finalising things.
