service under its Care by BLR programme, and if it rolls out as described, it could change how people prepare for a flight altogether. Here is the idea: instead of packing your bags, loading them into a cab, and dragging them through the terminal, someone from the airport's team would come collect your baggage from your home before you even leave for the airport. That is the core of the plan and it is being built around convenience from the moment you wake up till you are through security. What The Service Could Include The proposed service is not just about baggage pickup. It is shaping up to be a full door-to-door experience. Passengers could get a wake-up call to start their travel day, have their luggage picked up from home, and then be driven to the airport in a chauffeur-driven car. Once you land at KIA, the Care by BLR team is expected to take over and handle the necessary procedures on your behalf, so you are not stuck figuring out counters and queues on your own. There is also a smart fix being planned for a problem most flyers have faced at least once - carrying something through security that is not allowed. Instead of having to give up that item at the checkpoint, KIA is looking at a courier option. Passengers may be able to send such belongings to an address of their choice rather than losing them at the gate. That said, the airport has not yet shared which items would qualify, what it would cost, or when this could actually launch, so these details are still to come. The bigger plan includes home pick-up, doorstep check-in, limousine transfers, food delivery right at the boarding gate, and even help checking lounge eligibility - basically, assistance that follows you from your front door all the way to your seat on the plane. While the home check-in idea is still in the works, one part of this "door-to-door" vision is already up and running - luxury transfers between the city and KIA. Passengers who want a more premium ride can already book high-end cars from brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes, and even Rolls-Royce for their airport transfer. Prices vary depending on the car, the distance, and how long you book it for. Limousine transfers reportedly start at around Rs 4,500, giving flyers a taste of premium travel without going all out. For those who want to go all in, Rolls-Royce transfers start at roughly Rs 50,000, which is about as far from a regular airport cab ride as it gets.
