Delhi, the heart of India, is all set to undergo a major tourism makeover. On August 15, 2025, during the 79th Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Chief
Minister Rekha Gupta announced a series of ambitious tourism projects designed to showcase the capital as a global cultural and travel hub. From a Yamuna Cruise to a 12-km Chhath Ghat and a Delhi Heritage Circuit, these initiatives promise to reshape how travellers experience the city.
Yamuna Cruise: A New Way to Explore Delhi
Among the highlights of the Delhi Tourism Plan 2025 is the introduction of a river cruise service on the Yamuna. This unique experience will take tourists along the iconic river, offering picturesque views of the capital’s riverfront and cultural sites. Visitors will be able to enjoy boat rides while learning about Delhi’s rich history and heritage, making the Yamuna Cruise a must-try attraction for both domestic and international travellers.Chhath Ghat: One of India’s Largest Riverfront Projects
Another major highlight is the creation of a 12-km-long Chhath Ghat along the Yamuna. Touted as one of India’s largest riverfront beautification projects, the ghat will become a spiritual and cultural hotspot. Dedicated to religious gatherings like Chhath Puja, it will host evening aartis, cultural events, and live performances, drawing lakhs of visitors every year. With this project, Delhi aims to strengthen its position as a destination that celebrates both tradition and tourism.Heritage Circuit: Connecting Delhi’s Iconic Monuments
The proposed Delhi Heritage Circuit will link historic monuments, museums, and cultural centres, helping travellers explore the city more seamlessly. From Mughal architecture to modern landmarks, the circuit will provide tourists with an integrated sightseeing route, making it easier to discover Delhi’s historical, cultural, and artistic treasures. Also Read: Philippines Is Now Visa Free For Indians; Direct Delhi-Manila Flights To Launch In October
