Due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, Indian travellers are changing their plans. Seems like this summer vacation is not going to be about experiencing
the European street but more about exploring the Asian charm. The reason here is that travellers are gravitating towards more accessible international destinations. And a report by Ixigo just proves that right. It says that there are been a shift in travel preferences in recent weeks. This new shift in trend in travel preferences is driven by evolving global relations - including flight disruptions and airspace constraints in the Middle East. Vietnam has emerged as the top international destination with a 130% increase in bookings. It is followed by Nepal (88%), Sri Lanka (68%), Indonesia (33%), Singapore (32%) and Thailand (22%). What Is So Special About Vietnam? With its charming cities, beautiful landscapes and rich culture, Vietnam has something for every type of traveller. It offers hugely varied experiences across different regions. From the vibrant cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh to the scenic coastlines and landscapes of Halong Bay, Da Nang, Da Lat and Hoi An, each region has a distinct charm attached to it. This diversity allows Indian travellers to experience different aspects of Vietnam on a single trip. The North is known for its colonial architecture, cuisine and scenic countryside while South has lively cities along with the iconic Mekong Delta. The next reason could be its value for money. Vietnam has a reputation of one of the most affordable destinations in Southeast Asia. For Indian tourists, Vietnam offers excellent value for money. Expenses like accommodation, food and transport are very pocket-friendly compared to other destinations. Also, earlier, the air connectivity from India to Vietnam was not that great. Now, however, air routes between the two countries have significantly improved. Some of the major Indian carriers like Air India, Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines are now offering regular and affordable direct flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. The increased flight options have also made Vietnam much more accessible. Not just this but due to the war, domestic travel is also gaining momentum. Rajasthan is topping the list with the majority of flight bookings in the state. Cities like Udaipur have witnessed a 69% rise in flight bookings. This is followed by Jodhpur (47%), Bagdogra (44%), Srinagar (41%), Agartala (38%), Goa (22%), Jammu (18%) and Dehradun (17%).
