"Heavy rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi today," wrote Air India as it urged passengers to keep checking the flight status before heading to the airport. "Allow extra time for your journey due to possible slow moving traffic," wrote Air India.

SpiceJet in its travel advisory said, "Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status."

On the other hand, Akasa Air said, "Due to heavy rainfall in certain parts of Delhi, we anticipate slow moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to the airport."

Meanwhile, after weeks of long and dry days, the national capital region witnessed a heavy downpour. This has massively affected travel plans. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted a shift in weather. It is expected to stay like this till October 2, which is also when people are celebrating Dussehra.
Additionally, IMD also issued a red alert for Mumbai, warning of extremely heavy rainfall over the weekend. The alert covered places like Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, as the Konkan coast braces for a prolonged wet spell. Following this, on Saturday, Mumbai experienced persistent overcast skies and intermittent rain. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the island city recorded 30.07 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8 am. The eastern suburbs received 26.12 mm, while the western suburbs saw 9.99 mm during the same period.
