It is true that for travelling the world, more than money, one needs the zest and zeal to explore. Kanak Agrawal, an IITian, has been exploring European
countries and she hasn't spent much. Yes! We're not kidding. In the year 2017, Kanak quit her job and she decided to explore Europe on her own. Now picture this: She explored the Netherlands, France, Prague and Budapest in over 35 days and spent only Rs 1 lakh which included airfare. Baffled? It is indeed a tad surprising how she managed to do it. Listed below are some of the hacks she deployed and that seem to have worked in her favour. Volunteer work Kanak volunteered at an eco village in the Netherlands and there her accommodation and meals were taken care of for two weeks. So, this is how she got to explore the countryside near Amsterdam at no cost. Visited an old friend Kanak also decided to visit one of her old friends in the Netherlands. It was an impromptu decision that she took on a whim. However, it paid her well, as her friend invited her to stay with her for a couple of days. This again helped her save money that she would have otherwise spent on accommodation and meals. As part of it, she stayed put with locals in the Netherlands and Prague and explored the places with them. This helped her discover about new cultures, cuisines and places in a more wholesome way. She also was able to save a lot of bucks by doing so. Cheaper places Kanak also decided to explore places that are relatively much cheaper. Both Prague and Budapest are cheap. She didn't have to spend a lot. It is stories like this that reinforces one's belief that to explore the world, instead of money, one needs to be forthcoming and have the willpower to travel and explore.
