On Thursday, the government announced that in addition to the regular train services, 1,205 special trains will operate over the next four days in order
to cater with the Chhath festival rush. According to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, holding and waiting areas have ensured systematic entry of passengers at stations. He further added that around 10,700 reserved and 3,000 unreserved trains have been deployed to manage the festive rush. These trains will run alongside regular services, averaging 300 special trains per day. As per reports, in the last 21 days, 4,493 special train trips, average 213 trips daily, were operated. The Railways Minister also revealed that mini control rooms have been established at major stations. This monitoring system enables real-time coordination across the country in regards to the status of every station. There is also now a permanent holding area at New Delhi Station, which offers great convenience to passengers, with a capacity for over 7,000 people, 150 toilets for men and 150 toilets for women, automatic ticket vending machines, ticket counters, and free RO water. Taking to their social media handles, many passengers lauded Indian Railways for the better experience that was provided to them. One passenger who shared his experience for cleanliness, safety and overall upkeep of Jabalpur Railway Station, highlighted well-maintained platforms, organized premises and improved hygiene standards, states PIB. The same report says, "Madan Kumar Yadav praised the impressive railway system, online ticketing, and orderly queueing at the station. He also appreciated the RPF's vigilance in ensuring passenger safety and seat allocation during the festive travel rush."
