If Thailand is on your travel list this year and you have plans to explore this gem, it is definitely worth double-checking your paperwork before heading
to the airport. The Indian Embassy in Bangkok has issued a fresh travel advisory for Indian national. Thailand Travel Advisory: What Indian Travellers Should Know
- According to the advisory, every traveller should ensure they have the following:
- A passport with 6 months' validity from the date of arrival.
- Visitors should also carry an appropriate visa, in accordance with their purpose of travel.
- All travellers should have confirmed return tickets.
- They should also have confirmed hotel bookings.
- Travellers who will transit through Thailand should have all relevant documents for the destination, along with a visa.
- All visitors should fill out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). The form can be filled 72 hours before arrival and is available here.
Key Points To Remember
- The embassy has also highlighted a few practical tips that travellers should keep in mind before reaching immigration.
- People who are travelling under the applicable Visa on Arrival (VOA) provisions may be asked to show proof of sufficient funds. The advisory recommends carrying cash equivalent to THB 20,000 (approximately Rs. 57,450) per person.
- Travellers are advised to keep all their documents easily accessible. Immigration officers may ask to see them upon arrival.
- If you are travelling with family or in a group, each individual should carry their own passport, visa, arrival card and supporting documents rather than relying on one person to keep everyone's paperwork.
- The advisory also cautions travellers against accepting employment offers without proper documentation. Anyone who has not received a legitimate job offer or the required work-related approvals should not attempt to enter Thailand using a tourist visa or Visa on Arrival facility.
