HP IQ: Intelligent Workflow Orchestration
At the Imagine 2026 event, HP introduced HP IQ, an innovative on-device artificial intelligence layer engineered to seamlessly orchestrate workflows across
its entire ecosystem of AI PCs, workplace devices, and meeting spaces. This new technology leverages local, on-device processing and proximity-based connectivity to significantly reduce friction in hybrid work environments, addressing the prevalent issue of technological disruptions that hinder productivity. The system offers features like 'Ask IQ' for contextual query responses, private summarization of personal files such as PDFs and spreadsheets, 'Notes and Knowledge' for easily searchable interaction records, and a 'Meeting Agent' that captures notes without requiring users to switch between applications. HP IQ integrates with HP NearSense spatial intelligence for effortless device discovery and instant, secure file sharing through a simple drag-and-drop interface. This intelligent layer will initially be available on the next generation of EliteBook PCs and is slated to expand across HP's product range.
Next-Gen AI PCs and Enhanced Security
The EliteBook 6 62q Next Gen AI PC was a major reveal at Imagine 2026, boasting Snapdragon processors optimized for robust on-device AI capabilities. These new machines offer extended battery life and optional always-connected 5G, all within a chassis up to 15 percent thinner than their predecessors. Security also received a significant boost with the EliteBook 6 G2q featuring embedded physical intrusion detection, alerting users to any unauthorized internal access. HP also unveiled TPM Guard, a pioneering hardware solution designed to counter physical TPM bus attacks that can circumvent BitLocker encryption by establishing an encrypted link between the TPM and the CPU. This binding ensures the module is intrinsically linked to the device, rendering it inoperable if tampered with. Furthermore, quantum-resistant security was integrated into the new LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 and Enterprise 5000/6000 series printers, which now include AI-powered scanning and OCR, capable of reducing document processing time by up to 50 percent.
AI Compute and Gaming Hardware
Beyond productivity and security, Imagine 2026 saw HP present advancements in high-performance computing and gaming. The company announced next-generation Z workstations, specifically engineered to handle intensive AI computations, providing professionals with enhanced power for complex tasks. Complementing these workstation updates, HP also introduced significant enhancements to its Workforce Experience Platform, aiming to further optimize user productivity and collaboration. For the gaming community, the OMEN gaming hardware line received expanded AI optimization, promising a more responsive and immersive gaming experience. These comprehensive updates across various product categories underscore HP's commitment to integrating AI and advanced technology to meet the evolving demands of both professional and consumer markets.
