What's Happening?
Royal Farms is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Maryland by installing new stations at eight locations. This initiative is in partnership with Electrify America, a Reston, Virginia-based EV charging network. The new stations will feature hyper-fast chargers capable of speeds up to 350 kilowatts, allowing capable vehicles to charge in as little as 20 minutes. Currently, stations are operational in Halethorpe and Oxon Hill, with additional stations planned for Annapolis, Catonsville, Charlotte Hall, Columbia, Pikesville, and Towson. This expansion will bring the total number of chargers to over 55 across these sites, integrating into Electrify America's network of more than 1,000 stations and 5,000 chargers nationwide. Thomas Ruszin, fuel and environmental leader at Royal Farms, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation and accessibility, noting that these stations will make it easier for drivers to choose electric vehicles without sacrificing speed or comfort.
