What's Happening?
Riskified, a company specializing in e-commerce fraud prevention, has partnered with cybersecurity firm HUMAN Security to develop a security framework aimed at protecting merchants from fraud in the age of AI shopping agents. As consumers increasingly use large language models (LLMs) to research and purchase products, traditional fraud detection systems face challenges in identifying fraudulent transactions conducted by AI agents. Riskified's data indicates that traffic referred by LLMs is significantly riskier than conventional sources, with higher rates of fraud observed. To address these threats, Riskified is introducing new tools, including AI Agent Approve and AI Agent Intelligence, to monitor and manage orders from AI agents. The partnership will integrate HUMAN's Sightline platform with Riskified's expertise, enabling merchants to apply consistent trust policies across human and AI-driven transactions.
Why It's Important?
The collaboration between Riskified and HUMAN Security is crucial in addressing the growing risks associated with AI-driven shopping agents. As AI technology becomes more prevalent in e-commerce, the potential for sophisticated fraud increases, posing challenges for merchants in terms of revenue loss and reputational harm. By developing a unified security framework, the partnership aims to enhance fraud detection and prevention, allowing merchants to safely embrace AI-driven commerce. This initiative could lead to improved trust and transparency in online transactions, benefiting both merchants and consumers. As AI continues to transform the retail landscape, effective fraud prevention strategies will be essential in maintaining the integrity and security of digital commerce.
