One of the more surprising moves around the NFL on Sunday came when the Atlanta Falcons listed offensive tackle Wanya Morris among their roster cuts.
The Falcons had just sent a Day 3 draft pick to the Kansas City Chiefs a couple of months ago as part of the trade for Morris, who was supposed to provide some competition for former Chiefs teammate Jawaan Taylor at the right tackle spot vacated by Kaleb McGary's retirement.
Whatever the Falcons saw since he came on-board, it wasn't enough to earn him a spot on the initial 53-man roster, so Morris was given the pink slip, along with 36 other players as the roster was trimmed down for the regular season.
it didn't take Morris long to find a new home in the NFL, though. According to Mike Garafolo at
NFL Network, Morris is joining the Dallas Cowboys as part of their practice squad.

A third-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft, Morris (6-foot-5, 307 pounds) has appeared in 48 games with 16 starts under his belt. Morris has mostly played left tackle at this level but has experience at both spots.
Last season Morris earned a 57.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, but did not play enough snaps to qualify for a ranking.
