The Atlanta Falcons lost starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to a rib injury late in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The third-year QB took a big hit while attempting to lead the Falcons to a game-winning field goal in the final seconds.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he would need to see imaging before giving an update on Penix, but that's why we have NFL insiders. According to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic, the Falcons are optimistic that Penix will play against the Chicago Bears in Week 6.
"There is optimism in Atlanta that QB Michael Penix Jr. (ribs) will be able to play Sunday against the Bears, sources tell The Athletic." Jones reported. "Penix missed overtime last night as the injury worsened as he sat."

As for Stefanski, he did not provide an update on Penix's health during his Monday press conference but said he expected to know more about the injury on Wednesday.
The Falcons will face the Bears on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Chicago is still waiting to get quarterback Caleb Williams back, but there's reportedly a chance he could return in Week 6. The injury report will tell us a lot this week.
