Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski's press conferences are becoming must-see TV, mainly due to the team's never-ending quarterback controversy.
With Tua Tagovailoa, Michael Penix Jr. and Cooper Rush dealing with injuries, Stefanski has yet to name a starter for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Rush got the start in Week 1, but his poor play (two interceptions, including a pick-six) did little to secure the job going forward.
There has been some speculation that Penix could make his 2026 debut, however, it's tough to know how close he is to actually returning. The Falcons likely won't start Tagovailoa, since he's missed the last two days of practice.
However, the Falcons aren't ruling out anyone for Week 2. Even undrafted rookie
quarterback Jack Strand is reportedly in the mix to start against Carolina.
Stefanski will speak to reporters on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET. While it would be surprising if he doesn't name a starting quarterback for Sunday's game, we also aren't holding our breath.

The Falcons listed Tua Tagovailoa as their QB1 on their Week 2 depth chart, but that means little based on the team's recent injuries. Sunday's game starts at 1 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
