The Atlanta Falcons are kicking off practice ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, but there's still no indication of who the team will start at quarterback on Sunday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski provided an update at his Wednesday press conference.
"We don't have a quarterback yet for this week," said Stefanski. "We're working through it. I'm not ruling anyone out. Tua is not going to practice today, but he's getting better. Cooper and Mike will practice today, so we will work through it."
Stefanski would not say whether or not Michael Penix Jr. was ready to play this weekend, but the fact that he didn't rule anyone out seems to suggest it's a possibility. Cooper Rush got the start last weekend, but Stefanski's comments
also left the door open for Jack Strand.
We'll have to wait until Friday for an actual update on the starter, but it seems wide open heading into Sunday's game against the Panthers. Watch Stefanski's full Wednesday press conference below.
