The Atlanta Falcons are considered underdogs for Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints. That makes sense, but there's also a strong case to be made for an upset.
For one thing, the Falcons have a three-day rest advantage over the Saints - so they should be significantly more fresh.
For another, Atlanta is proving very difficult to beat under the lights, now having won five of their last six prime-time games going back to last season.
Here's John Breech at CBS Sports making the case for a Falcons upset win.
"After playing on Thursday night in Week 3, the Falcons will be coming into this game on 10 days' rest, and if they were smart, they spent half of that watching "Jersey Shore." This game marks the 20th anniversary of the Saints' return
to the SuperDome after Hurricane Katrina, so the stadium is going to be rocking on Monday night, but as I said, home-field advantage means nothing in this division. I think the Saints struggle to stop Atlanta's high-powered offense and the Falcons escape with a win."
Nobody should be watching Jersey Shore in the year of our lord 2026, but other than that, Breech hits the bullseye.
The Falcons have also fared well against the Saints recently, having beaten them in both meetings last season. In November they took down New Orleans, 24-10 despite getting just 70 rushing yards from Bijan Robinson. In January, the Falcons just snuck past the Saints, winning 19-17 to finish their regular season.
Monday Night's game starts at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
