The Atlanta Falcons play their 2026 season opener in five days, but they aren't done tinkering with the roster just yet. The team hosted veteran defensive tackle Zacch Pickens for a workout on Tuesday, according to ESPN reporter Marc Raimondi.
Pickens, a former South Carolina standout, was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle spent just two seasons in Chicago before landing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025.
The 26-year-old has appeared in 29 career games, including three starts, over three NFL seasons with the Bears and Chiefs. Pickens has recorded 44 tackles (20 solo), 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and four QB hits since entering the league in 2023.

The Falcons recently acquired defensive tackle Gervon Dexter in a trade with the Bears, and it would make sense for the team to sign Pickens for additional depth along the front seven. Dexter was not listed as a starter on the team's Week 1 depth chart.
Defensive tackle LaCale London was listed ahead of Dexter, and while this may seem like a surprise, the veteran has quietly played very well for Atlanta. London had five sacks last season.
