The Atlanta Falcons are gradually getting healthier at quarterback as training camp goes on. After being limited due to a back injury last week, Tua Tagovailoa is now healthy enough to participate in 11-on-11 drills. Tagovailoa made his 11-on-11 debut at the team's first padded practice on Monday, according to ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
While third-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is still restricted to 7-on-7s and individual drills, Tua joining his teammates in 11-on-11s is a big step for an Atlanta team that had been playing undrafted free agent Jack Strand as its QB1.
Strand has done a nice job, but Tagovailoa's experience will allow the Falcons offense to hit its full potential. It also bodes well for the team's young wide receivers, including
Zachariah Branch, who need all the experience they can get before the live bullets begin to fly in the regular season.

Tagovailoa has appeared in 78 career games since being drafted by the Miami Dolphins fifth overall back in 2020. The former Alabama standout has passed for 18,166 yards, 120 touchdowns and 59 interceptions for a career passer rating of 96.4.
The Dolphins released Tagovailoa over the offseason, allowing him to sign with the Falcons for the veteran minimum. Keep your eyes on Atlanta's QB battle as training camp picks up over the next few weeks.
