The Atlanta Falcons wrapped up their third day of training camp on Friday afternoon, but this was the first practice that was open to the fans. Falcons season ticketholders were treated to the first of 10 open practices, and there were a few notable highlights.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has yet to be cleared for 11-on-11 drills, but he still made some plays in 7-on-7s at Friday's practice.
Penix connected with rookie running back Cash Jones on a swing pass for a touchdown. Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Georgia, is getting some extra run while Bijan Robinson sits out in hope of landing a new contract.
The pass-catching specialist will need to showcase his versatility to have a chance at making the 53-man roster, but he's off to a promising
start.
