It was an eventful week around the NFC, with two starting quarterbacks (Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels) going down due to injury. Four undefeated teams remain in the conference, with the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks all 2-0 going into Week 3.
Down at the bottom of the standings you will find the Atlanta Falcons tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Commanders at 0-2. However, Atlanta has been uniquely awful - posting a -38 scoring differential through two games, which is the worst mark in the NFL (pending Monday Night Football results between the New York Giants and the LA Rams).
Now the media is appropriately raking the Falcons over the coals. CBS Sports gave Atlanta an "F"
grade for Sunday's 31-point loss to Carolina, and have included Cooper Rush and their offense on their biggest losers list for Week 2.
"For as poorly as the Atlanta Falcons played in their season-opening loss, it was hard to picture the offense regressing in Week 2. That the unit managed a measly three points in a 34-3 drubbing at the hands of the Carolina Panthers was indicative of its unenviable quarterback situation... Unless one of Tagovailoa and Penix oversees a more effective offense once healthy, Atlanta will be in play for one of the top picks in the 2027 draft and could use it to find its next signal-caller."
Deshaun Watson's horrible contract still makes the Cleveland Browns' quarterback situation the worst in the NFL. However, as far as results on the field go the Falcons are in a league all their own when it comes to failure at QB.
Now they'll visit Green Bay on a short week, and another loss will end any hope of making the playoffs.
