The Atlanta Falcons have played two different quarterbacks through the first two weeks of the season, but both Cooper Rush and Jack Strand will be inactive for tonight's prime-time matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
With Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa finally healthy, the team did not see a need to keep any other active quarterbacks on its game-day roster. Penix will start for the Falcons for the first time since his tearing his ACL last season against the Carolina Panthers.
Rush struggled in his two starts, passing for 229 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions. Strand finally got in against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 and didn't fare much better. The undrafted rookie out of MSU-Moorhead went 8/15 for 59 yards and a pick-six.
Tagovailoa missed the first two weeks of the season due to an oblique injury, but now that he's back, he'll serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Penix in Week 3.
