The Atlanta Falcons have released their final injury report for this Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Those hoping to see Michael Penix Jr., Tua Tagovailoa or Jack Strand will be disappointed as Cooper Rush was named the team's Week 2 starter on Friday.
Penix has been ruled out, while Tagovailoa is doubtful for Atlanta's first NFC South showdown of the season. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said Strand would serve as the No. 2 QB on Sunday. Aside from the quarterbacks, cornerback Billy Bowman Jr. (Achilles) has been ruled out.
Cornerback A.J. Terrell (shoulder) and guard Chris Lindstrom (concussion) are both questionable for Week 2, however, Terrell told reporters he expects to play on Sunday.
The Panthers have ruled out defensive
tackle Bobby Brown III and listed linebacker Patrick Jones II as questionable. As for wide receiver Jalen Coker, he was a full participant at Friday's practice and did not receive a game designation for Week 2.
