The NFC South has been far from impressive this season, but the division has shined while playing in prime time. The Atlanta Falcons lost their first two games before turning things around with back-to-back upsets on national TV in Weeks 3 and 4.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their own version of a season-saving upset on Thursday night, defeating the Dallas Cowboys, 24-16, to kick off Week 5. It was the Buccaneers' first win of the year, and it came with undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels at quarterback.
Daniels was an efficient 19/25 for 189 passing yards and one touchdown. While Dallas nearly came back, Buccaneers linebacker Alex Anzalone was able to intercept a batted ball to halt the Cowboys' late surge.
The Carolina Panthers are off this week,
but the New Orleans Saints will host the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons will play the Baltimore Ravens this weekend on Sunday Night Football.
Lamar Jackson is not expected to play, but Atlanta can't afford to be overconfident against a good Ravens team.
