The Atlanta Falcons have released a new depth chart for this Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, however, their starting quarterback for Week 2 remains a mystery.
Tua Tagovailoa is still listed as the starter, but he's dealing with an oblique injury. Michael Penix Jr. is currently fourth-string due to his knee injury. Both quarterbacks missed Week 1 and it's not clear when either will return.
Cooper Rush got the start in Week 1 but underwhelmed in his Falcons debut, passing for 143 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, including a pick-six to Steelers edge T.J. Watt.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to provide an update on Wednesday, but all signs currently point to Rush.
I checked on this with the team and was told it listed
Rush based on no new information. However, Coach Kevin Stefanski will announce who the QB is, whenever he decides to make his decision public. So per this release, Rush, for lack of a better term, is a placeholder - for now https://t.co/Y9VnRdsp2y
