The Atlanta Falcons did the unthinkable on Thursday night, defeating the Green Bay Packers, 35-14, in a stunning prime-time win to kick off Week 3. Michael Penix Jr. returned and helped get the Falcons offense back on track.
Bijan Robinson rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, with two catches for 19 receiving yards. Drake London had nine catches for 194 receiving yards. Overall, the Falcons out-gained the Packers, 498-328, in Week 3. Atlanta went 6-for-10 on third down and the Packers had no answer.
Penix started slow with an interception but bounced back, completing 17 out of his next 20 pass attempts for 256 yards and a touchdown. His big-play ability was as advertised, and it had an overall positive effect on the rest of the offense.
After
the game, Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski was rightfully happy with his team's performance but kept a level head.
"Proud of the overall effort," said Stefanski. "It counts as one we'll get back to it next week."
