The Atlanta Falcons placed linebacker JD Bertrand on the reserve/injured list and signed veteran Josh Woods off of the practice squad in a corresponding move on Monday evening. Despite spending the last two seasons in Atlanta, Woods was only recently added to the training camp roster.
Woods recorded 14 total tackles in 12 games with the Falcons in 2025, contributing mostly on special teams. The 30-year-old has appeared in 82 career games, recording 137 tackles (85 solo), one forced fumble and one fumble recovered.
Bertrand also mostly contributed on special teams, making Woods a logical replacement after initially signing with the Falcons' practice squad on Monday afternoon. This leaves two practice spots available, one of which could potentially
go to Zach Harrison if he clears waivers.
