Even after losing in Week 5, the Atlanta Falcons are clearly trending in the right direction under head coach Kevin Stefanski. The team has gone 2-1 since Michael Penix Jr.'s return, barely losing to the Baltimore Ravens in overtime last weekend.
The Falcons have another tough test coming up against the Chicago Bears in Week 6. Not only is head coach Ben Johnson's team an offensive juggernaut, but the Bears are expecting to get star QB Caleb Williams back this week.
In today's Falcons Wire Recap, Bijan Robinson and Drake London take over as the NFL's best RB-WR duo, Kyle Pitts lands on fantasy sit 'em list, PFF projects Atlanta to take a left tackle in a new mock draft, and we look at the latest injury updates ahead of Sunday's game vs. the Bears.
Falcons release safety Jammie Robinson
The Falcons released defensive back Jammie Robinson on Thursday evening. Robinson, who spent much of the last two seasons on the Falcons' practice squad, was signed to the active roster before Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 25-year-old entered the league as a fifth-round pick with the Carolina Panthers back in 2023.
After playing in 21 games over his first two seasons with the Panthers, Robinson signed with the Falcons in 2025 and appeared in six games. Over his four-year NFL career, Robinson has recorded 23 tackles (16 solo) while contributing primarily on special teams.
Since the Falcons still have a practice squad spot available, we wouldn't be surprised to see Robinson back in Atlanta before Sunday's game against the Bears.

Drake London says Falcons offense nowhere near its ceiling
Michael Penix Jr. re-established his lethal connection with top wide receiver Drake London, who's totaled over 400 receiving yards over the last three games. To hear London tell it, this offense still has a lot of room to grow. Here's what he said about it earlier this week, per Josh Kendall at The Athletic.
โThe fun part about this (offense) is that we are nowhere near our ceiling. I truthfully believe that,โ London said. โI think weโre going to be โฆ hard to deal with, especially when we clean up some of these little things.โ

Falcons have NFL's top RB-WR duo going into Week 6
After scoring just 16 total points in their first two games of the season (8.0 points per game), the Falcons have put up 103 points over the last three weeks (34.3 points per contest) with Penix in the lineup.
Bijan Robinson currently leads the NFL with 580 rushing yards, surpassing Kansas Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker for the top spot going into Week 6. Drake London's production has been off the charts with Penix slinging the rock. The former USC standout's 488 receiving yards rank fourth in the NFL.
Between Robinson and London, the duo has accounted for 1,220 total yards - the highest total of any running back-wide receiver duo in the NFL this season.

Michael Penix Jr. 'good to go' vs. Bears in Week 6
Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. exited Sunday's loss to the Ravens in the fourth quarter with a rib injury and did not return. The third-year quarterback's lengthy injury history has been regurgitated ad nauseam, however, it doesn't sound like Penix is going to miss any time with his rib injury.
"Weโre good and I feel good to go this week, so thatโs the plan," Penix said following Wednesday's practice. "MRI/scans were all positive... Itโs not always comfortable but I made every throw out there today."

Falcons take OT in PFF's new 2027 NFL mock draft
Trevor Goosby from Texas has been the most popular mock pick for Atlanta so far for Round 1, but today we have a new name to digest. A new 2027 NFL mock draft from Pro Football Focus has the Falcons rolling the dice on Jordan Seaton from LSU at No. 14 overall.
"Seaton would give the Falcons a succession plan for Jake Matthews at left tackle, with the veteran currently in his 13th season. LSU's left tackle has earned a 79.1 PFF pass-blocking grade so far in 2026 and produced a 93.5% PFF pass-block win rate on plays where he has been left to block without help." - Gordon McGuinness, PFF

Grady Jarrett excited to face former team
Former Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who's undoubtedly one of the best players in franchise history, signed with the Bears in 2025. Jarrett will return to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first time since departing in free agency.
The former fifth-round pick out of Clemson spent 10 seasons in Atlanta and served as the face of the defense for the bulk of that span. Jarrett, a Georgia native, recorded 496 tackles (267 solo), 126 QB hits and 36.5 sacks over 152 games with the Falcons.
"It's going to be awesome to play there. All the time I spent there," Jarrett told reporters on Wednesday. "It's going to be cool to be back on that turf. Iโm going to go out there, compete and do what Iโm going to do.โ
