Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is back in Miami for this Friday's preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins. It will be Tagovailoa's first time playing at Hard Rock Stadium since he was released by the Dolphins over the offseason.
While Tagovailoa has yet to clinch the starting job, he may end up as the Falcons' QB1 due to Michael Penix Jr.'s uncertain status. Since Penix has been ruled out for Friday's game, Tua will get the start.
Tagovailoa has a chance to kill two birds with one stone on Friday night. If he balls out, he can both stick it to his former team and prove to his current coaches that he's the right guy to lead Atlanta's quarterback room in 2026.
In terms of preseason storylines, they don't get much better than Falcons-Dolphins.

Falcons vs. Dolphins: Preseason uniforms revealed
As you can see below, the Falcons will wear their white uniforms for the second week in a row. However, this time they will wear them with black pants, white shoes and black helmets.

Miami selected the former Alabama star with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and for the first few years, it looked like a great fit. Tagovailoa took off when he linked up with former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. However, injuries and poor performances led to both Tagovailoa and McDaniel to lose their jobs in 2025.
Friday's game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium.
