It's only Week 2 but it's already time to panic as far as the Atlanta Falcons' offense is concerned. At the moment the gameplan consists of Bijan Robinson, more Bijan Robinson and not a whole lot else.
At least that's the case if veteran backup Cooper Rush is going to start again this week, as it appears he will.
In Sunday's season-opening loss to Pittsburgh, Rush appeared to have no chemistry whatsoever with any other pass-catchers on the roster, and didn't even bother to look their way for much of his Atlanta debut. Star wide receiver Drake London didn't see his first target until late in the first half and only had four all game.
Even worse was the situation for tight end Kyle Pitts, who recorded zero catches and only one target the entire afternoon.
Through no fault of his own, Pitts has been named to Bleacher Report's fantasy football duds list from Week 1.
"Pitts managed to fare well with a healthier Penix and Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball last year, but Atlanta's quarterback situation has devolved to a point where none of its signal-callers can be trusted to keep the team's pass-catchers fantasy-relevant. Bijan Robinson is the lone Falcons skill position player who can be trusted right now."
Pitts closed the 2025 season on a hot streak - but remember that his best work only came after Michael Penix Jr. went on injured reserve and dink-and-dunker Kirk Cousins replaced him in the starting lineup.
The best hope for Pitts' fantasy production is that fellow dink-and-dunker Tua Tagovailoa recovers quickly from his oblique strain (an injury that tends to linger a long time without rest) and gets back to the form we last saw in 2023 with the Miami Dolphins. That scenario is looking like an increasingly remote one as time goes on, though.
