The Atlanta Falcons have released their final injury report for this Sunday's showdown against the Chicago Bears. After days of speculating over Michael Penix Jr.'s status, the third-year Falcons quarterback did not receive an injury designation for Week 6.
Penix, who is dealing with a rib injury, was a full participant for all three days of practice this week. He won't have any restrictions on Sunday, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. However, it wasn't all positive for Atlanta.
Cornerback C.J. Henderson has been ruled out due to a groin injury, which puts the Falcons' secondary in a tough spot against an explosive Bears offense. Edge rusher Za'Darius Smith is questionable for Sunday's game with a neck injury.
As for the Bears, they still
haven't determined whether or not quarterback Caleb Williams will play. The former No. 1 overall pick was a full participant in practice this week, but he's dealing with a slight hamstring tear that kept him out the last two games.
Williams seems to be trending towards playing on Sunday, but we'll have to wait until Chicago's injury report comes out this afternoon to know his official status.
"I hit a top speed the other day, one of my high speeds I've ever hit, so I can move, I can run, I've got the strength," Williams said on Thursday. "It's, like I said, just going through the stress test because fibers in your hamstrings and muscles have to connect back together to be able to go out there and play a 60-minute game."
