National Tight Ends Day is technically not a national holiday, but nobody bothered to tell the Atlanta Falcons. After Tanner Muse scored the first touchdown of the day for the Falcons in the second quarter, they have now taken the lead on a touchdown by Kyle Pitts.
Watch Michael Penix roll out and find his No. 1 tight end for six.
Coming into the game we were concerned that San Francisco's zone-heavy defense led by former head coach Raheem Morris would give Penix trouble, but so far that hasn't been the case.
So far Penix is an excellent 20/24 for 143 yards, two passing touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 119.3.
The Falcons lead 19-14 midway through the third quarter.
