It's been a painfully long offseason for the Atlanta Falcons, and while their quarterback questions remain, the team will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday to begin the 2026 NFL regular season. The Falcons are planning to start Cooper Rush at QB, as both Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa were previously ruled out.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski named Cooper Rush the starter on Friday, but the veteran QB is apparently dealing with back spasms that have put his status in doubt. Even though the Falcons believe Rush will be good to go on Sunday afternoon, it's tough to believe it until we see it.
